When designing characters, I like to compare the vibe of the character that I'm designing to one that already exists to give a sense of familiarity to them.
I also try my best to keep color palettes and shape language in mind when designing and making design choices, but sometimes the hype of the moment gets to me and I just go full on anime with it.
